Foundations

“If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”

(Psalm 11:3)

I think that we can all agree that foundations are very important. My father used to own a cabin in the mountains which had a badly cracked foundation. It was not obvious from the outside that the foundation was cracked but it was affecting the structure of the cabin and would probably have eventually caused the cabin to have to be rebuilt. The same thing is true of spiritual foundations.

Jesus Christ has spoken to us regarding the importance of foundations:

“Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.”

(Luke 6:47-49)

Are you aware that the devil has been doing the best that he can to destroy the foundation of God's word beginning with his temptation of Eve in the garden? Are you aware that the New Testaments of the modern "bibles" that most professing Christians use today were translated from a Greek text that has been corrupted in over 8,000 places (and that the Hebrew text used as the foundation for the Old Testaments in these modern "bibles" is massively corrupted also)? Do you know that these corruptions are founded upon principles that have long since been proven wrong? Do you know that the modern translators use a principle called "dynamic equivalence" with which they feel free to change the very words of God (delete words, add words, change verbs into nouns, or singular words into plural, and on and on)? The foundations are being destroyed and yet most professing Christians are totally unaware of this.

“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”

(II Corinthians 11:3)

“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”

(I Thessalonians 5:21)
