Glory is that which is profound, splendid, honorable, and praiseworthy; that which is full of dignity and majesty.
God's glory accompanies his presence.
It has a profound affect upon those who witness it:
“So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.”
(II Chronicles 5:14)
The heavens speak of God’s glory:
“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.”
(Psalm 19:1)
God's glory endures for ever:
“The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.”
(Psalm 104:31)
Man's glory does not last:
“For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:”
(I Peter 1:24)
Glory belongs to God:
“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”
(Matthew 6:13)
“Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.”
(Revelation 5:12)
Man comes short of God's glory:
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
(Romans 3:23)
Man must not glorify himself:
“And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.”
(Acts 12:23)
Man must give glory to God:
“That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.”
(I Corinthians 1:31)
God's people are to declare God's glory to others:
“Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations.”
(I Chronicles 16:24)
Whatever God's children do is to bring him glory:
“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”
(I Corinthians 10:31)
“Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible,
the only wise God,
be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
(Titus 1:17)
