Bearing Precious Seed

“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed,

shall doubtless come again with rejoicing,

bringing his sheaves with him.”

(Psalms 126:5-6)

In Matthew13 and Luke 8 Jesus spoke of the seed as being the word of God.

God’s Word is precious.

We can find wisdom and understanding through God’s word. There is nothing more precious than this.

“Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.”

(Proverbs 3:13-15)

God’s word contains promises that are very precious.

“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

(2 Peter 1:4)

Why would the sower of God’s word weep?

Because many will not receive God’s word.

“But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD’S flock is carried away captive.”

(Jeremiah 13:17)

The sower will rejoice when the harvest comes in.

“For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”

(Psalms 30:5)

There is no doubt of this.

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

(Isaiah 55:11)
