Spiritual Warfare

In warfare, understanding the mind of the enemy is very important

Lest Satan should get an advantage of us:

for we are not ignorant of his devices.

II Corinthians 2:11

  • The book of Nehemiah explains how to gain victory while serving God. 

  • The tactics of the enemy in that day are the tactics of Satan in our day. 

  • Victory was gained in that day in the same way it can be gained in our day.

God can help us understand the tactics of our enemy and how to war against him through this great book.

If you truly seek to follow God and help others….

The enemy will take notice of you

When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.

Nehemiah 2:10

The enemy will ridicule you

But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the king?

Nehemiah 2:19

But take heart and trust God

Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.

Nehemiah 2:20

The enemy will plan to attack you

But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it.

Nehemiah 4:7,8

So pray and be watchful

Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.

Nehemiah 4:9

The enemy will invite you to join

him That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief.

Nehemiah 6:2

But know that this is a trick

And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?

Nehemiah 6:3

The enemy will attempt to weaken you through fear

For they all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. …

Nehemiah 6:9

So ask God to strengthen you

….Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands.

Nehemiah 6:9

Despite the enemy’s opposition, God will finish his work

So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days. And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God.

Nehemiah 6:15,16

Being confident of this very thing,

that he which hath begun a good work in you

will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Philippians 1:6
